Obituary

Linda Benson Ferber died on January 4 in Sarasota, Florida. She leaves behind husband Ralph Ferber of University Park, Florida and son Todd McNeely of Brentwood, Tennessee. Linda was one of four siblings born to Mildred Hitt and Edwin W. Benson, Sr. She went to Madison High School, then graduated with honors from the University of Memphis. She later earned a master’s degree in speech pathology from Western Kentucky University and worked for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. Linda and Ralph lived in Brentwood before moving to Florida in 2009. They travelled extensively, enjoyed boating, played bridge and loved spending time with their family and friends. In addition to her husband and son, Linda is survived by brother Ed Benson, Jr (wife Jamie) of Nashville, sister Vicki Benson Buchanan (husband Ron) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, sister-in-law Rhonda Fowlkes Benson of Goodlettsville, Ralph’s children Kristi and Frank both of Florida, nieces and nephews in Nashville and Florida. She was predeceased by her parents and her younger brother Jim Benson. A reception for family and friends will be held from Noon to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28 at Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery with the interment immediately afterwards. Memorial gifts may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 12 pm until 2 pm at Spring Hill Funeral Home. There will be a service on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 2 pm in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery has been entrusted with the final care of Ms. Ferber.
