Kenneth Wayne Steverson, 74, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed
away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born January 24, 1949, in
Nashville, he was the son of the late Lloyd Steverson and Frances
Hendrick Steverson. He was a member of Saint Philip the Apostle
Catholic Church in Franklin. Kenneth was retired from the Tennessee
Department of Children’s Services where he had started out as a
social worker and worked his way up to Assistant Commissioner. To
say Kenneth loved history would be an understatement. He was an
amateur archeologist and volunteered for the Tennessee Department of
Archeology as well as Maury County archives. He also enjoyed a good
trip with his wife, Mary, on his Harley Davidson. His family will
remember his as a gentle man of few words who loved his family and
friends dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his sister Dannette Miller. He is survived by his wife of 51
years, Mary Steverson; sister Daryl (Mike Kozlowski) Steverson;
mother-in-law Cornelia Laux; uncle Jim Hendrick; his brothers and
sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 25, from 10 am until
11:30 am at Saint Philip the Apostle Catholic Church 113 2nd Ave S,
Franklin, TN 37064. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11:30 am.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 1 pm on
the grounds of the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will
receive friends and visitors at Spring Hill Funeral Home from 12 pm
